Dennis Song

DDS, MD

Dr. Dennis Song, DDS, MD, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with extensive training in both dentistry and medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of San Francisco and earned his B.S. and D.D.S. from the University of California, San Francisco, followed by his M.D. from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Song completed internships in General Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF and went on to complete his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF. He is licensed as both a dentist and physician in California and holds a General Anesthesia Permit, along with certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Dr. Song serves as an Associate Professor at the University of the Pacific and as Chief of the Dental Division and Active Staff at Sutter California Pacific Medical Center, and is a Staff Surgeon at UCSF Health Stanyan. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. His leadership roles have included President of the UCSF Associated Dental Students, the San Francisco Dental Society, and the San Francisco Medical Society, and he serves as a General Anesthesia Examiner for the Dental Board of California.
His clinical interests include pediatric oral surgery and behavior management, dental anesthesiology, dental implants, trauma and emergency care, wisdom tooth extractions, bone grafting and oral reconstruction, advanced diagnosis and treatment planning, 3D imaging and surgical planning, multidisciplinary care coordination, and the study of the oral, gut, and systemic microbiome and allergy.

Rishi Jay Gupta

DDS, MD, MBA, FACS

Dr. Rishi Jay Gupta is a native of Walnut Creek, CA and earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Molecular and Cell Biology at University of California, Berkeley. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of California, San Francisco concurrently with a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of San Francisco and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) form the University of California, Davis. Dr. Gupta completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of California, San Francisco and a fellowship in Sleep Surgery from California Sleep Institute and Stanford University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Gupta is licensed to practice both dentistry and medicine and has a permit for general anesthesia. He has published numerous articles and contributed to many chapters in the field. He is a principal investigator and actively involved in research for the treatment of temporomandibular disorders and sleep apnea.

He serves as Section Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System and Staff Surgeon of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Northern California VA Health Care System. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco and staff surgeon at California Pacific Medical Center.

Stephen Thaddeus Connelly

DDS, MD, PHD, FACS

Dr. Stephen Thaddeus Connelly was born in New York and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from the University of Miami in Florida. He then attended Columbia University to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of California San Francisco. For his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he attended the University of California San Francisco after which he earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Craniomaxillofacial Sciences.

Dr. Connelly is licensed to practice both dentistry and medicine and has a permit for general anesthesia. He serves as an attending surgeon at Veterans Affairs Medical Center and California Pacific Medical Center. He is licensed to practice both dentistry and medicine and serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco teaching students and residents. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles and continues his research in the field as a principal investigator.

Rebeka Silva

DMD, FACD

Dr. Rebeka Silva was born in New York and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from Syracuse University. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Silva obtained advanced training in Hospital Dentistry from the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center after which she obtained her specialty certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York.

After her training, Dr. Silva taught at the University of California San Francisco as an Assistant Clinical Professor teaching students and residents while also serving as Section Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco where she later became the Chief of the Dental Service. She was also promoted to Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco advancing her academic work while also serving as a course director and lecturer.

Dr. Silva is licensed to practice dentistry and has a permit for general anesthesia. She has published numerous articles, written for textbooks, and obtained key research grants. Being active in many professional organizations and government committees, she has also provided many lectures in the field and is also an instructor for CPR. She is also an attending surgeon at California Pacific Medical Center.

Fatima Mashkoor

DDS

Dr. Fatima Mashkoor, DDS, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with advanced training in surgical care and academic medicine. Originally from Sri Lanka, she completed her Post-baccalaureate Graduate Certificate in Anatomy and Neurobiology at the Medical College of Virginia and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Mashkoor completed her internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center and her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull. She is licensed as a dentist in both California and New York and holds General Anesthesia Permits in both states, along with certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Dr. Mashkoor serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of the Pacific and is on active staff at Sutter California Pacific Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Her academic and professional contributions include multiple research articles, grants, and presentations, and she serves as a General Anesthesia Examiner for the Dental Board of California.
Her clinical interests include dental and facial trauma, dental implants, wisdom tooth extractions, maxillofacial pathology, and reconstructive bone and tissue grafting.

David Ahn

DMD

Dr. David Ahn, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with advanced training in minimally invasive TMJ surgery and complex joint reconstruction. Originally from South Korea, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from Case Western Reserve University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ahn completed his internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at San Antonio Military Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Endoscopic and TMJ Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is licensed as a dentist in California and holds a General Anesthesia Permit, along with certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Dr. Ahn is on active staff at Sutter California Pacific Medical Center and serves as an Attending Surgeon at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. His professional and academic contributions include multiple research publications and presentations, and he serves as a General Anesthesia Examiner for the Dental Board of California. He previously served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, Program Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Travis Air Force Base, and Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Health Services University.

His clinical interests include temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and reconstruction, TMJ replacement, minimally invasive TMJ arthroscopy, orthognathic and corrective jaw surgery, orofacial pain management, surgical simulation and augmented and virtual reality applications, dental implants, third molar surgery, and oral pathology and reconstruction.
